Week 44 – Easter waves

Week 45   Easter Saturday 30 March to Friday 5 April 2013

Eastern View beach

Eastern View, Great Ocean Road, between Anglesea and Lorne

The surf was terrific over Easter down by the Great Ocean Road – not that I can surf (I can hardly swim). It was a treat to watch some fine surfing on some terrific waves at Eastern View and Cathedral Rock. It’s a treat to be down that part of the world, regardless of the weather or the surf or even the traffic.

Easter, of course, means  the Bells Beach Classic. I steered clear but was tempted to take the turn-off on my way back  from the Geelong-Williamstown game at Spring Creek Reserve, Torquay. Instead my son and I had a kick of the footy at Bellbrae.

This week’s dips:
Easter Saturday 30 March: Fairhaven, 9am
Easter Sunday 31 March: Sunnymeade (Aireys Inlet) 9am
Easter Monday 1 April: Moggs Creek 9am, Eastern View 3pm
Tuesday 2 April: Lorne 9am, Williamstown 5pm
Wednesday 3 April, Thursday 4 April and Friday 5 April: Williamstown, 7.15am

Scoreboard: 308 dips, 57 to go.

Next week: maybe Tom’s poem!
